Privacy Policy
Maison SaintGermain Ventures Limited (“the Firm”, “we”) operates saintgermain.capital. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why we hold it and what you may ask us to do with it.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Maison SaintGermain Ventures Limited, a company incorporated in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, registered at 196 Herbert Macaulay Way Yaba Lagos NG with RC number RC__________ . Questions about this policy, or any request concerning your information, should go to principal@saintgermain.capital.
What we collect
This site does not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts or marketing cookies. We collect personal information in two circumstances only.
When you contact us. The inquiry form asks for your name, your firm or entity, your email address, the nature of your inquiry and whatever detail you choose to include in the message. Everything in that form is supplied voluntarily by you. If you email us directly instead, we hold the contents of that correspondence.
When you load a page. Our hosting provider records standard server log data, including IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs exist for security and to keep the site running, not to build a profile of you.
Why we hold it
- To read, assess and reply to an inquiry you have sent us.
- To carry out preliminary diligence on a proposal, where you have put one to us.
- To keep records of correspondence relating to transactions we consider or complete.
- To protect the site against abuse, and to meet legal or regulatory obligations that apply to us.
We process personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (“NDPA”). Our lawful bases are your consent, given when you choose to submit an inquiry; our legitimate interest in evaluating and responding to approaches made to the Firm; and compliance with a legal obligation where record-keeping is required of us. Where you reach us from the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we apply the equivalent bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. Information may be handled by:
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs.
- Our form and email providers, which transmit and store inquiries sent to us.
- Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used on this site. Your browser requests those files directly from Google, and your IP address is visible to Google as part of that request.
- Professional advisers — counsel, accountants, or regulators — where a transaction or a legal obligation requires it.
Several of these providers operate outside Nigeria. Where personal data leaves Nigeria, we transfer it in accordance with section 41 of the NDPA, relying on the adequacy of the recipient jurisdiction, on contractual safeguards with the provider, or on your consent, as the circumstances require. Where UK or EU data protection law applies to a transfer, we rely on the safeguards recognised under that law, including standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data no longer than is necessary for the purpose it was collected, as the NDPA requires. Inquiries that do not proceed are kept for up to twenty-four months, after which they are deleted. Correspondence connected to a transaction we complete is retained for as long as the holding lasts, and afterwards for the period our legal, tax and regulatory obligations require. Server logs are held for a short period set by our hosting provider.
Confidentiality
Material sent to us in the course of a proposal is treated as confidential and circulated only to those within the Firm who need to see it. Sending us information does not by itself create a non-disclosure agreement between us. If a formal confidentiality undertaking matters to you, ask for one before you send anything sensitive.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold information about you, and give you a copy of it.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete information we no longer have a reason to keep.
- Restrict or object to a particular use of it.
- Provide it in a portable, machine-readable form.
Write to principal@saintgermain.capital and we will respond within one month. You may also withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing already carried out.
If you are unsatisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, which supervises our processing. If you are in the United Kingdom or the EEA, you may instead complain to your own national supervisory authority — in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to inquiries is limited to the principal and anyone they authorise. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us before it reaches us. Please do not send bank details, identity documents or other sensitive material through the inquiry form.
Children
This site is directed at institutions and professional counterparties. It is not intended for anyone under eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may revise this policy from time to time. The date at the top records when it last changed, and the version published here is the one in force.
